The Jumping Off Place casting

We are in production on The Jumping Off Place but we are still casting for the role of Joanna, a self-assured, somewhat wild, free spirited bohemian. Seeking female talent who can play early to late 20s, must have long hair and basic dancing skills. South American look (Brazilian, Portuguese preferred), OR someone who can do an edgy hipster/alternative look (any ethnicity). There are several lines for this character and it’s a good fit for a model or dancer looking for film experience. Please email head shots and resume to bill [at] billingsgate.org

The Jumping Off Place is a character piece about two estranged brothers trying to reconnect or disconnect during a night on the town. It is being produced entirely in San Diego and is being directed by Bill Perrine with Fitz Henley, Mike Sears and Holly Rone heading up the cast.

Casting notice for short film shooting in San Diego

Seeking male lead and two female supporting actors for a short film shooting locally. The film is a character piece about two estranged brothers trying to reconnect or disconnect with some finality during a night on the town. We’re searching for somebody with creative instincts and improv ability who really wants to dig into the material.

Charles: Male actor, any ethnicity, must be at least 5’10″, can play early 40s to early 50s, must have improv experience. Charles is a family man, traditional and somewhat conservative, his calm demeanor ineffectively hiding a core of anger. Short hair or bald/balding. Ability to dance like a giddy fool a major plus.

Joanna: Actress who can play early to late 20s, any ethnicity, slim build, must have long hair. Joanna is a self-assured, somewhat wild, free spirited bohemian.

Katy: Actress who can play early to late 20s, any ethnicity, slim build. Katy is Joanna’s best friend, more innocent than her friend -almost kittenish. Like Joanna she is free spirited and lives for the moment.

Children of the Stars screening in San Diego, March 7

trashtalk_unarius_flyer

Come check out a special INTERACTIVE screening of my documentary Children of the Stars at the amazing Victory Theater on March 7. I will be there so if you want to stare into my cold dead eyes and ponder the void within this is a GREAT opportunity. More info below:

Rejoice and mark your calendars! TrashTalk Theater is serving up a cosmic double feature at the Victory Theater in San Diego on March 7.

This is going to be a FANTASTIC show: we’ll begin with a screening of Children of the Stars, a documentary by local San Diego filmmaker Bill Perrine. His film tells the strange but true story of Unarius, a San Diego UFO contactee group who relive their past lives on other planets by making their own science fiction films.

Rounding out the double feature will be John Boorman’s Zardoz, a hypnotic and bewildering post-apocalyptic parable that offers some curious insight into Sean Connery’s career choices. If you haven’t experienced this film yet, there is truly no better place than TrashTalk Theater for your sweet and tender first time.

Not enough awesome? Well, in a uniquely TrashTalk Theater take on the typical documentary Q&A, Bill Perrine himself will be logged on and interacting directly with the audience during the show!
